Holidays and Family
Holidays with our family always means one thing- COOKING. We love to get together and fire up the grill, tell stories and share a meal together. We have been doing this our entire lives. Today our family is coming over to do just that. Andy and I are hosting the get together at our house. We are really looking forward to everyone coming. We worked in the yard and the house getting everything clean and ready. Today I will spend most of the day in the kitchen. The kitchen is my favorite place to be. We are planning a feast. Rick is making his wonderful baby back ribs and Wagner's Baked Beans. Rick is my sister's husband and he owns Wagner’s BBQ. I am making BLT deviled eggs, broccoli salad, beach bread and Mt. Dew cobbler with vanilla ice cream. If you have never had the Mt. Dew cobbler you are missing out. It is delicious. It is very important that you have ice cream to put on this magnificent dessert. My mom is making her fried squash and onions (fried in bacon grease) and they are delicious. She is also bringing sliced tomatoes and Vidalia onions with dill mayo. Suzette is making her double baked potatoes that are to die for. Andy's mom is bringing an apple pie. I have never had her apple pie but I know it will be fabulous. Andy’s mom is a wonderful cook. We will defiantly share our recipes with you later. I hope you and your family have a wonderful and safe holiday.
